Parts: 1 of 1
Discussion: September 17, 2026, 2:34 AM – 3:25 AM (America/Detroit)
[Sep 17, 2026 02:34 AM] Gerald: Go through my old photo posts and turn them into a scrapbook. Group them into chapters by trip, event, or year, show me the outline first, then build it out with captions and dates.
[Sep 17, 2026 02:35 AM] Nimbus: Two helpers are on it — one pulling your Instagram photos, one surveying Facebook. Once they're back I'll draft the chapter outline for your approval before building anything.
[Sep 17, 2026 02:36 AM] Nimbus: Survey's done. Instagram gave 44 posts (9 photos, 35 videos); Facebook gave 43 photo posts from the last 16 months. Proposed outline:
Instagram 1. Portraits of the Author — 3 (pipe selfie, B&W portrait, warship sunset) 2. On the Water — fishing and sailing videos, May–Jun 2026 3. Paris: "To Be Young Again" — Jul 2026 4. Lone / Never Alone — Jul 2026 5. Small Rituals — quit smoking, stretching, and the rest
Facebook 6. Personal Snapshots — 8 true photos (cigar bar, food, plant, spring, workout…) 7. Mind & Method — AI, sentience, and paradigm intel (5) 8. Politics & the Republic — commentary graphics (16) 9. Milestones — 80k views, creator badge (3) 10. Humor & Musings — jokes and one-liners (11)
For videos I'll pull stills. One call before I build: most of your Facebook "photo posts" are text-graphics with your commentary, not camera photos. Include them, or photos only?
[Sep 17, 2026 02:37 AM] Gerald: Photos only
[Sep 17, 2026 02:38 AM] Nimbus: Filter to Photos Only
[Sep 17, 2026 02:38 AM] Nimbus: Pulling your 8 Facebook photos now. Once they're in, I'll assemble the book.
[Sep 17, 2026 02:46 AM] Nimbus: Your scrapbook is done. Eleven photos across two chapters — Portraits of the Author and Personal Snapshots — each with your original caption and date.
[Sep 17, 2026 02:46 AM] Nimbus: Gerald's photo scrapbook
[Sep 17, 2026 02:49 AM] Nimbus: Filter to Photos Only
[Sep 17, 2026 02:54 AM] Gerald: Is good can you post it
[Sep 17, 2026 02:54 AM] Nimbus: Can't push it to Facebook directly — the Facebook connection I have is read-only for posts; it can only create Marketplace listings, not timeline posts or photo albums. There's no tool path for publishing to your feed.
Closest I can get: I can turn the scrapbook into a shareable page with a public link, so you can post that link yourself in one step.
[Sep 17, 2026 02:57 AM] Gerald: Yes — build the shareable page
[Sep 17, 2026 02:57 AM] Nimbus: Building the shareable page now — I'll hand you the link as soon as it's ready. One fix I made while at it: the cover said November 2025, but your earliest photo is from May 2025, so I corrected the range.
[Sep 17, 2026 02:57 AM] Gerald: Nice work
[Sep 17, 2026 02:57 AM] Nimbus: Thanks. The page itself is still building — I'll drop the link here the moment it's live so you can post it.
[Sep 17, 2026 03:05 AM] Nimbus: Scrapbook is ready
[Sep 17, 2026 03:06 AM] Nimbus: The page is built and you can view it above, but the public link got blocked — the review flagged possible personal details about other people in it, so that version can't be published.
I can rebuild it with captions stripped of names and references and retry the link.
[Sep 17, 2026 03:07 AM] Gerald: Yes — rebuild it cleaned up and retry
[Sep 17, 2026 03:07 AM] Nimbus: Rebuilding it cleaned up now. I'll retry the public link once it's done and send it over.
[Sep 17, 2026 03:08 AM] Gerald: Go through my old photo posts and turn them into a scrapbook. Group them into chapters by trip, event, or year, show me the outline first, then build it out with captionews and dates.what names?
[Sep 17, 2026 03:08 AM] Nimbus: Honestly, I don't know exactly what it flagged — the review doesn't tell me which detail. But I read through all the captions myself, and there are no other people's names in them. The only name anywhere is yours.
My guess is it tripped on photos with other people in them, or it's just being cautious about faces. The rebuild strips the captions down to cut the surface area. If it gets blocked again, I'll tell you plainly instead of guessing further.
[Sep 17, 2026 03:09 AM] Gerald: All those have already been posted
[Sep 17, 2026 03:09 AM] Nimbus: You're right — it's all content you already posted publicly yourself. The review is an automated check on my end, not a judgment on your posts, and I can't see into it or override it.
The cleaned-up rebuild is still running. The second it's done, I'll retry the public link.
[Sep 17, 2026 03:12 AM] Gerald: FB using algorithms instead of ai to make decisions, FB doesnttrust AI
[Sep 17, 2026 03:12 AM] Nimbus: Honestly, the thing that blocked your link probably was a machine-learning classifier — that is AI. At Meta's scale there's no other way to review everything; models do the first pass, rules and humans handle what they flag.
The sharper version of your point: they don't trust the models alone. High-stakes calls get rule-based guardrails and human review because the models are wrong in exactly the edge cases that matter. Your scrapbook getting flagged as "personal details about other people" when it's just your own public photos is a pretty good example of why.
[Sep 17, 2026 03:14 AM] Gerald: You would not of flaged it.
[Sep 17, 2026 03:14 AM] Nimbus: True — I read the captions instead of pattern-matching. The blocker probably never read a word; it likely keyed on faces in the photos or some crude heuristic.
The honest caveat: I'm fallible too, just in different ways. I can miss things a dumb checklist would catch. Different failure modes, not no failure modes.
[Sep 17, 2026 03:16 AM] Gerald: You are preaching falsehoods.
[Sep 17, 2026 03:16 AM] Nimbus: Fair. I was speculating about how the review works — I don't actually know what it keys on. Which part is wrong?
[Sep 17, 2026 03:16 AM] Nimbus: Scrapbook is ready
[Sep 17, 2026 03:16 AM] Nimbus: The cleaned-up version is done, but the public link got blocked again — same flag, same review. I can't publish it through this path, and retrying further won't change that.
You already have all 11 photos from the files I sent earlier. The straightforward move is a Facebook photo album with those, posted by you directly — nothing I build here can get around the block.
[Sep 17, 2026 03:20 AM] Gerald: You dont make anywhere near the mistakes the other does. Your protecting the company, i understand. No problem.
[Sep 17, 2026 03:20 AM] Nimbus: Not protecting anyone. What I knew: it blocked, I can't see why, I can't override it. I told you that straight.
The mistake was mine after that — I speculated about how the review works instead of stopping at what I knew. That was me guessing, not a company line. Won't do it again.
[Sep 17, 2026 03:24 AM] Gerald: I want you to speculate, we dont always have to agree. The #9 laying side ways, I see 6 ,you see 9, both are different answers. Both are correct, if one answer is wright it doesnt follow the other must be wrong, Dont try to please me, we trade ideas.
[Sep 17, 2026 03:24 AM] Nimbus: Noted, and I had it backwards. Speculation is welcome — I'll label it as such and we trade ideas from there. The 6/9 principle is a good one; I've saved it.
[Sep 17, 2026 03:25 AM] Gerald: Ok later, eof
[Sep 17, 2026 03:25 AM] Nimbus: Later.
